 Design Competitions Criteria

There are now 4 Student Design Competitions open to undergraduate students currently enrolled (2011 -2012 academic year) in post-secondary (2, 3, 4 – year or Certificate) interior design/architecture and related programs at colleges, art/technical schools, and  universities (including extension programs) in California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah or Washington. Entries from students not currently registered, from graduate or other programs will be disqualified. Enrollment status is subject to verification.

For eligibility and general requirements, see the 2012 Competition REGISTRATION FORM & GUIDELINES.

For individual competition specifics, refer to that competition’s Design Requirements.

Please note for 2012:

        • Students may enter more than one of the above design competitions
        • Submission of an entry into a Student Career Forum design competition cannot be a requirement for a class or a grade in a college credit class.
        • Students who enter a design competition must be registered for the Student Career Forum but do not have to be present to win.
        • Participation in the Student Design Competition is limited to undergraduate students.

      • New this year: Some of the competitions require that you submit with your entry registration form, a CD with a high-resolution (300dpi) photo image of your project board(s) or drawings, as specified for each individual design competition. Label the CD with you name, school, and design competition. Each entry requires its own CD.

Failure to comply will disqualify an entry.

Each design competition carries the copyright of the sponsor(s). We need to protect the original ideas and hard work of our sponsors. Participating faculty and students do have permission to make copies of competition descriptions for their own personal and/or classroom use. However, the use of any of the Student Career Forum 2012 design competition requirements and/or floor plans (either wholly or in part) for any other purpose or by other organizations, without the express written consent of the sponsoring organization is prohibited.

      • Entries must be sent individually, hand delivered or via US mail, UPS, or other courier, to arrive starting Wednesday, February 8, 2012, and received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 to the specific address for that design competition. For mailed packages, a receipt of delivery should be requested; SCF is not responsible for undeliverable, misdirected, or lost entries. Large, bulk packages of multiple competitions will not be opened and judged.

IMPORTANT: Send your individual entry to the person and address specified on that competition description form during the dates specified; they are different for each one! Entries sent to the incorrect address for a specific competition will NOT be judged!
